about the bands Cicada Radio [Killing Horse Records]

Cicada Radio hail from Hudson County, NJ and have been a staple of the local music scene for the past six years. Though they came together as a trio in 2010, they have since expanded their lineup, consisting of brothers Patrick and Michael Keefe leading the band on guitars and vocals and supported by the impressive and tight-as-nails rhythm section of drummer Josh Bartsch and bassist Brandon Barron. Citing influences such as At The Drive-In, Desaparecidos, and The Police, Cicada Radio have developed a post-hardcore sound that harkens back to the early 90s D.C. music scene but with a distinctive sound that is wholly their own. They seemlessly blend haunting melodies and lush noise-scapes with singer Patrick Keefe’s reverb-drenched voice like a chemically-induced fever dream. Michael Keefe’s delay-laden guitar leads ebb and flow through each song like an opiatic lullaby.

Tough Guy Soda [Philly] [https://toughguysoda.bandcamp.com/]

Tough Guy Soda, based in Philadelphia, started out on the backs of flatbed trucks and homemade stages in Chester County, PA. They're best described as Warehouse Rock, adding space and atmosphere to the energy and intensity of garage rock. It also helps that their practice space is a vacant office attached to an actual warehouse.

TGS released a 10-song demo on November 24, 2017 and are actively working on new material for 2018.

Tiger Castle [Philly] [https://tigercastle.bandcamp.com/album/rachel-the-vampire]

"Tiger Castle is a Philadelphia band playing a fuzzy dreamy combo of surf rock, garage rock, and indie, drawing influence from acts such as Wavves, Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins, Diarrhea Planet, and My Bloody Valentine. The band started off as a solo project recorded in various bedrooms and basements. In 2016, old kinda-friends from high school became new good friends when they teamed up to play out songs live. Tiger Castle has since started writing material as a group, and plans to release another full-length by late spring.

In coming up with a single genre they fit into, real or fake, there is Nerf Rock: as cool and extreme as the commercials, but as soft as the darts at heart."

Tiger Castle Favorite Ice Cream- If I'm gonna get brand-specific, my favourite is Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip made by Graeter's in Cincinnati. They're not so much 'chips' and 'gigantic chunks of homemade chocolate'. (side note: THEY SELL IT AT WEGMANS)
